Scotland's third sector social media gathering returns on Thursday 3rd November 2011 6-9pm at the Informatics Forum, University of Edinburgh. The November event will be an exciting mix of talks and workshops.

Our Speakers

Ed Henderson

Ed Henderson (Jack Draws Anything) will join us for a short presenation and discussion about the amazing story of his 6 yr old son Jack's campaign which has raised over £20,000 for Edinburgh Sick Kids, gaining international acclaim in the process.

Conrad Rossouw

Conrad Rossouw (Shelter Scotland) will be looking at the success of Shelter Scotland's partnership with Foursquare. Conrad will then take a workshop exploring the opportunities location-based social media offer third sector organisations of all sizes.

Lesley Pinder

Lesley Pinder (Missing People) will be sharing her experience of using social media to build a passionate community around a cause. In particular, Lesley will be exploring the success of The Big Tweet in raising awareness of Missing People. Lesley's session will also include a workshop on how you can build a successful social media campaign regardless of your organisation's size.

Be Good Be Social is for the beginner as much as the digital die-hard. We hope to bring together people interested in social media for social good, whether you work or volunteer for a non-profit, charity or social enterprise.

You'll get a chance to see how other Scottish third sector organisations are using tools such as Twitter, Facebook Foursquare and YouTube as well as blogging and podcasting platforms to bring about real change and raise funds.

Businesses, freelancers and public sector workers are also welcome, although paid tickets are limited.
